## Complexity Made Manageable.

Crunchy Tech started out of a townhouse in Orlando in 2008 with one contract: support audiovisual systems for a global brand. We weren't tasked to design nor install them, only to keep these systems running. And when your inaugural job is fixing what breaks, you learn fast where every product falls short and what survives a Tuesday night rush.

By 2010, revenue jumped from under $400K to $2.2 million, enough for the company to land on the coveted Inc. 500. That was the foundation. What happened next is what separated Crunchy from every other AV shop in the country: we started inventing.

## Eighteen Years, One Mission

### 2008 — 2013 — Foundation & Invention

From a townhouse contract to Inc. 500. We started inventing.

- **2008 · The First Contract** — Started as a support operation for a major global brand's audiovisual systems. One contract, a shared office, and a philosophy that would define everything that came next: understand how systems break before you try to build them.
- **2009 · First Hires** — Brought on the founding team members who are still partners today. Moved from independent contractors to a real organization with a shared office space and employee records.
- **2010 · The Growth Spike** — Revenue jumped from under $400K to $2.2 million in a single year. That growth rate earned Crunchy a spot on the Inc. 500 — not the 5,000 — making it one of the fastest-growing private companies in America.
- **2011 · Interactive Touch Table** — Built a full-touchscreen conference table overnight. TechCrunch picked it up. At the time, large-scale commercial touchscreens didn't exist outside of Microsoft Surface tables or fully custom builds.
- **2011 · Padzilla Is Born** — Created the first oversized, fully functional iPad. Oracle rented the first unit for Oracle OpenWorld. A new product line was born.
- **2011 · Voice Control (Before Alexa)** — Built a voice-activated system that could control lights. Called it "Aleks." Google sent a cease-and-desist. Amazon hadn't even entered the space yet.
- **2013 · Global Content Distribution** — Built a centralized platform controlling music, video, and AV content across 180+ franchise locations. That system ran for 12 years before being retired in 2024–2025.

### 2014 — 2019 — Scaling Globally

Three product lines into production. Five continents. Still bootstrapped.

- **2014 · Padzilla Commercialized** — Moved from hand-built units (250 lbs each, requiring motorcycle lifts) to real manufacturing methods. Brought the price from $30K down to $10K. Padzilla grew to become the largest part of the business.
- **2015 · Unreal Bowling Goes Viral** — Feature video went viral during Christmas 2015. Roughly one-fifth of bowling centers in the U.S. reached out. Installations went nationwide, then global — Middle East, Europe, Australia.
- **2015 · iOS Phone Expansion** — Adapted Padzilla technology for large-format iPhone display. As the App Store exploded, developers needed a way to demo apps at scale. Padzilla was — and still is — the only commercialized device that does this for iOS.
- **2016 · LED Wall Manufacturing** — Started manufacturing proprietary LED walls. Installed at major hotel groups including Marriott Vacations Worldwide properties.
- **2019 · Nationwide AV Expansion** — Landed multi-location AV contracts including a hospitality brand with 77+ locations. Full design-build projects for hotels, restaurants, entertainment venues, and enterprise spaces.

### 2020 — 2022 — The Reinvention

COVID rewrote the rules. We rewrote the company.

- **2020 · The Industries Disappear** — Trade shows stopped. Restaurants closed. Bowling alleys shut down. The markets Crunchy had built everything for were suddenly in question. Padzilla's primary use case evaporated overnight.
- **2020 · Leadership Shift** — New leadership took the helm with a clear mandate: stop dabbling, start commercializing. Take 13 years of invention and product development — and turn it into a scalable, repeatable operation.
- **2021 · Enterprise Pivot** — The corporate world had moved to hybrid work overnight. Crunchy moved explicitly into enterprise AV — applying the same design-build thinking to corporate offices, government facilities, and multi-location organizations.
- **2022 · Back to Hospitality** — Returned to hospitality with sharper focus. Completed 25 locations for a major steakhouse brand. Started design-build work for a multi-location sports bar group that would grow from 5 to 19+ locations.

### 2022 — Today — The Blueprint

Everything we built. Applied to everything we do.

- **2022 · Padzilla Re-Released** — New operating system. Globally connected. Centralized software updates pushed from a single hub to every client worldwide. The product that started in a townhouse was now a commercial platform.
- **2024 · Unreal Bowling Reinvented** — Switched from camera-based tracking to LIDAR. Cut component count by 50%. Made installation simple enough for customers to do it themselves. A product that was too expensive in 2011 became accessible to any bowling venue.
- **Today · The Design-Build Methodology** — Took everything learned across 15+ years of building products and inventing solutions — and codified it into a repeatable process. Understand the business first, design the technology second, build it so it scales without complexity.
- **Today · Where We Stand** — Three commercialized product lines. Each one refined, each one globally distributed, each one built on the same foundation: support taught us what breaks, invention taught us what's possible, and scaling taught us what lasts.

## Every System We Built Taught Us How to Build Yours

Because we didn't start as an AV design firm but as a support team fixing other people's work, that meant learning -- across hundreds of locations, thousands of service calls, and over a decade of hands-on support -- exactly where systems fail, where operators get frustrated and where the gap between "what was promised" and "what works at 9 PM on a Saturday" gets painfully wide.

Then we started building products. Supersized touchscreens that didn't exist yet. Content distribution that ran across 180 locations. Interactive bowling. A giant iPad. Some of those went viral. Some of them got cease-and-desists from Google. All of them taught us something about how to design technology that operates at scale, under real conditions, for real operators who don't have time to troubleshoot.

That's the advantage. Not a feature list or a certification. It's far better: 18 years of building, breaking, fixing, and rebuilding. Applied to your space.

## Four ways we show up.

### Built from the inside out

Other commercial AV companies learn how to build systems and then figure out support later. We did it the other way around. Crunchy started as a support operation fixing, maintaining and keeping systems alive across hundreds of locations. That taught us exactly where every product fails, every installation cuts corners and every operation breaks down. We build from that knowledge outward.

### Business first, technology second

Technology is never the starting point. The question is always: what does this space need to do for your business? How should your guests feel? How should your team operate? The equipment, the layout, the control system - those are answers. But you can't write answers without understanding the question first. That bridge between what technology can do and what a business needs it to do is where we operate.

### Built with our own hands

Crunchy Tech has been bootstrapped since day one. No outside investors, venture capital or corporate parent. Every product we've built, every office we've moved into, every team member we've hired -- all funded by revenue, built on profit, earned through work. It shapes how we think about your money too. We don't over-spec because someone else is footing the bill. We design what you need because we know what it costs to build something real.

### Scale without complexity

You could be operating on 1 location or 200. Regardless, the system should be simple for the people running it. Our products, including AV, Padzilla and Unreal Bowling, all follow the same principle: centralized control, simplified operations and global distribution from a single hub. We've been building distributed systems since 2013. The philosophy hasn't changed. If your team can't run it without calling us every week, we didn't design it right.

## Multidisciplinary Team. Accountable for Everything.

It all started from a single contract in 2008. Now we're here building systems running on five continents.
