Immersive & Experiential AV

Immersive & Experiential AV

Buildanenvironment, not a screen

Immersive AV turns a room into an experience: projection, sound, displays and control working as one space that surrounds the visitor. We design the environment, build it and tune it on site.

An immersive AV experience is engineered.

Immersive and experiential AV is the design and integration of spaces that surround and respond to the people in them, where projection, audio, displays and control work as one environment instead of a screen mounted on a wall. It's what turns a lobby into a brand moment, a training space into a simulator and a flat room into somewhere people remember and talk about.

The reason it works as a business move is the same reason any good AV does: experience drives whether people come back and what they tell others. The reason it's hard is that an immersive space is several disciplines at once, and they have to feel like one.

We design the whole environment, from the surfaces and the sound to the control that runs it, build and prove it in our shop, and calibrate it in the actual room. Our designers can build all the way out to a full simulation environment, including immersive flight-simulation rooms.

What we deliver

Four disciplines, oneexperience

Each one is deep on its own; here they're engineered to disappear into a single environment.

Immersive Projection

The Challenge

A flat screen undersells a space meant to surround the visitor.

What We Deliver

Edge-blended, warped projection that turns surfaces into one continuous image.
  • Multi-wall edge blending and stitching
  • Curved, dome, and wraparound surfaces
  • Color and brightness matched across projectors
  • Linked to the Edge Blending practice

What it is

What makes AV immersive

An immersive space is several systems designed to read as one environment.

The difference between a room with a lot of AV in it and an immersive room is whether the pieces disappear into one experience. A wall-sized image with a visible seam, audio that comes from an obvious speaker and a control panel nobody can find all break the spell. The job is to make the technology vanish so the environment is all that's left.

That takes the same business-outcome design we bring to any project, applied at higher density. We start from what the space is for and how a visitor moves through it, then design the surfaces, the sound field, the content and the control together so they behave as a single environment.

What we build

The pieces of an immersivebuild

Immersive AV pulls several practices together. Each has its own depth; here they serve one environment.

The pieces of an immersive build

Immersive projection. Edge-blended projection wraps an image across curved, domed or wraparound surfaces so it surrounds the visitor. See multi-wall edge blending.

Immersive audio. A spatial sound field placed around the room so sound comes from where the experience says it should. See immersive audio.

Large-format displays. Where panels fit better than projection, LED video walls deliver bright, durable immersive surfaces.

Simulation and training environments. Wraparound image and sound that put an operator inside the scene, the same discipline behind a flight-simulation room.

Control. One interface that runs the whole environment. Your staff start an experience in a tap and it runs the same way every time.

Where it fits

Where immersive AV earnsitsbudget

Immersive AV pays off wherever the experience is the product.

Experience centers and brand showcases, where the space is the marketing. Attractions and entertainment venues, where the experience is what people pay for. Hotel and resort feature spaces, lobbies and arrival moments that set the tone.

Retail flagships that turn a visit into something worth posting. Museum-style and exhibit environments. And simulation and training rooms, where putting the operator inside the scene is the whole point.

What they share is that a flat screen on a wall would undersell the moment. When the goal is to surround, immerse or transport, the design has to think in environments. And that's the work.

How we deliver

Designed, built and tunedasone

An immersive space lives or dies in commissioning. The room is where the disciplines become one experience.

Designed, built and tuned as one
InstallDesigned, built and tuned as one

We design the environment as a whole - projection geometry, sound field, displays, content sources and the control that ties them together. We engineer them to work as one rather than as parts from separate vendors. The system is built and proven in our shop before it ships.

Then we calibrate in the actual space: blends and warps to the real surfaces, the sound field to the room and the control around how your team runs the experience. We support it afterward, with most issues resolved remotely and we keep it calibrated as the equipment ages.

We design and integrate the experiential system; we are not a show-content or media-production studio, and we partner cleanly with the creative teams who are.

What is immersive AV, and how is it different from a big display?

Immersive AV creates environments where audio, video, lighting and control systems work together to shape how people experience a space, rather than functioning as separate pieces of technology. A big display shows you something; an immersive space puts you inside it. The difference is whether the pieces disappear into one experience, the image wraps the room without a visible seam, the sound comes from where the experience says it should and the control is invisible. We design those disciplines to feel like a single environment, build the system and tune it in the room.

What is an experience center, and can you build one?

An experience center is a space designed to immerse visitors in a brand, a product or a story rather than just inform them, common for corporate brand showcases, flagship retail and visitor centers. And yes, we build them. The work is to engineer the environment, projection or large-format displays for the visuals, a spatial sound field, and the control that runs it, around what you want a visitor to feel and do as they move through. We design and integrate the experiential AV system and partner cleanly with the creative and content teams who produce what plays inside it.

What makes an immersive room actually work instead of feeling like a tech demo?

It works when the technology disappears and the environment is all that's left. It feels like a demo when the seams, speakers and controls keep reminding you they're there. That comes down to design discipline: an image with no visible joins, a sound field placed so it belongs to the scene, content and lighting that move together, and a control system simple enough that staff run the experience the same way every time. We design from how a visitor experiences the space and tune all of it on site, because immersion is judged by the person standing in the room, not by the drawings.

Do you create the content or build the system?

We design, build and integrate the AV system, the projection, audio, displays and control that make the environment work, and we support it afterward. We're not a show-content or media-production studio, so we don't produce the films, animations or interactive media that play inside the space. What we do is build the environment those experiences run on, and partner with your creative team so the system is designed to show their work at its best. If you're early, we'll help scope what the space needs before anyone produces a frame.
