Immersive Audio

Immersive Audio

Sound that comes from everywhereitshould

Immersive audio places sound around and above the room, so it arrives from where the experience puts it instead of a speaker on the wall. We design the sound field, install it, and tune it in the space.

Commercial Sound Systems

Immersive audio is a soundfield

Immersive audio is a spatial sound system designed so sound can come from any direction, including overhead, and land where the content places it. Where traditional surround puts a few channels around a room, immersive and object-based audio treats sounds as objects positioned in three-dimensional space, so a voice, an effect or a piece of music can sit exactly where the experience needs it.

It's the audio half of an immersive space, and it follows the same rule as all good audio: design for purpose. We map the room, place speakers for full coverage and accurate localization including height, drive them through a DSP that positions the sound field, and tune the whole thing on site, because spatial accuracy is judged by the person standing in the room.

What we deliver

Four parts of an immersiveaudio build

Each one is what makes sound land where the experience puts it.

Capability 01

Spatial Sound Field Design

The Challenge

Channel-based surround can't put a sound at an arbitrary point in the room.

What We Deliver

Object-based design renders each sound to its position in three dimensions.
  • Object-based / spatial sound design
  • Overhead height coverage
  • Accurate localization for every seat
  • Matched to the visual experience

Multi-zone discipline at higher density

What it is

How immersive audio differs

Surround sound puts a few channels around you. Immersive audio places sound anywhere in the space, including above.

Not a surround sound system

Traditional surround assigns audio to a fixed set of channels: left, right, rears, a subwoofer. Immersive and object-based audio treats each sound as an object with a position in three dimensions, and the system renders it to whatever speakers reproduce that position in your specific room, including height speakers overhead. The result is sound that has a location - a voice that comes from the figure on the wall, rain that falls from above, an effect that travels across the room.

That's the difference between hearing audio and being inside it. For an immersive space, it's the audio that completes what the visuals start: sound and image arriving from the same place instead of pulling against each other.

Immersive Locations

Immersive projection rooms and experience centers, where the sound has to travel with the image. Attractions and entertainment venues, themed environments, and premium screening or media rooms. Simulation and training spaces, where a sound coming from the right direction is part of the realism. And high-end hospitality or brand spaces where the audio is meant to wrap the guest.

It pairs naturally with immersive and experiential AV and edge-blended projection; when the image surrounds the visitor, the sound should too. For everyday venue audio, where the goal is great coverage and zoning, a commercial sound system is the right call.

How we design it

Designing the soundfield

Accurate spatial audio is a coverage and localization problem, solved in the real room.

We start with the room, its size, its shape and its acoustics, because a spatial system depends on where every speaker sits relative to the listener. We design speaker placement for full coverage and accurate localization, including overhead height speakers, then drive the array through a DSP that positions and renders the sound field. Amplifier channels and speaker counts are designed together, the same discipline behind any multi-zone system, just at higher density and with position as the goal.

Then we commission on site. A spatial design that models perfectly can still place a sound an arm's length from where it should be once it's in the real room. We tune localization, levels and timing in the space, at the volume the room actually runs.

What is immersive audio?

Immersive audio is a sound system that places audio anywhere in three-dimensional space. Each sound gets treated as its own object with its own position, and the system works out which speakers in your room can reproduce that exact spot. A voice can come from wherever someone is standing on screen. Rain can fall from above instead of from the corners. An effect can move as it moves in the scene.

How is immersive audio different from surround sound?

Surround sound is built around a fixed layout: a set number of speakers positioned around one listening spot, with each channel carrying its own dedicated track. Immersive audio drops that structure entirely. Instead of pre-assigned channels, each sound carries three-dimensional position data, and your room's own speakers (height channels included) recreate that position on the fly. The difference shows up the moment you're not sitting in the sweet spot. Surround thins out as you move; immersive audio keeps sound anchored to its actual location no matter where you're standing. That's the split - one is built around a seat, the other is built around the space.

What kind of spaces need immersive audio?

Immersive audio fits spaces where sound carries the experience. Immersive projection rooms and experience centers need it because the audio has to move with the image. It shows up in themed attractions, premium screening rooms, and simulation or training environments, where a sound arriving from the correct direction is part of what makes the scenario convincing. High-end hospitality and brand spaces use it the same way - to wrap a guest in sound rather than just play music at them. For an everyday venue that mainly needs solid coverage and zoning, a commercial sound system does the job. Immersive audio earns its cost when position itself is the point.

How do you make sure the sound actually lands where it should?

Getting sound to land in the right spot starts long before anyone turns a speaker on. We map out exactly where each speaker needs to sit relative to where people will actually be standing or sitting, and we plan the amplification to match that layout piece by piece. That's the groundwork. The part that confirms it works happens after install, when we walk the finished space and check, by ear and by measurement, whether a sound truly comes from where it's supposed to. Adjustments happen right there - nudging timing, balancing output between speakers, correcting anything that drifted from the plan. We come back periodically after that too, since equipment shifts and rooms change, and drift that goes unchecked eventually becomes noticeable.
