A commercial outdoor sound system is weather-rated speakers and amplification designed as their own zone, meaning the patio, pool deck or courtyard can run its own source and volume without fighting the room inside. Outdoor is harder than indoor: there are no walls to hold the sound, the surfaces are reflective and open. The gear also has to survive weather fluctuations that would kill indoor speakers.
We design the outdoor area as its own zone on its own amplifier channel. We choose speakers rated for direct weather and place them for even coverage, which means a guest in the far corner hears the game as clearly as the one by the door. Then we tune it on site, in the actual space, because open air behaves nothing like a showroom.

Outdoor coverage and indoor coverage are different jobs. We design them as separate zones for a reason.
Inside, walls and ceilings contain and reflect sound - a few speakers cover a room. Outside, the sound just leaves; coverage depends on placement, direction and enough properly powered speakers to fill the space evenly. We put the outdoor area on its own amplifier channel and its own source. That way, the patio can run the away game while the bar inside runs the home crowd, each at the right level.
There's a practical limit to how many speakers a channel can drive cleanly. We size the channel count to the patio's size and layout. Expect even coverage instead of a hot spot by the door and silence in the corner.
Built for weather
Consumer speakers don't last a season outdoors. Commercial outdoor gear is a different category.
Outdoor speakers face direct sunlight, rain, humidity, salt air near the coast and temperature fluctuations across the year. We specify weather-rated, commercial-grade speakers built for that very exposure and mount them to survive it. The difference shows up in year two - when consumer gear has corroded/failed and a properly rated system is still running.
This is the same professional-versus-consumer line that runs through every Crunchy install. A customer seldom sees the difference from the front, but the operations team feels it through constant failures and replacements. We build it once, correctly, so the patio isn't a recurring repair ticket.

Coverage
Outdoor audio fails when it's loud in one spot and gone in another. Placement is the whole game.
We run a coverage analysis for the outdoor area the same way we do inside: direction, mounting height and the way an open space carries sound. The goal is intelligibility everywhere people sit or stand, not a single loud zone near the speakers.
For larger patios and decks we distribute more speakers at lower individual volume, which covers the space evenly and keeps the sound from blasting the nearest table while leaving the far seats out of it.

A small patio and a large multi-level deck live in different ranges.
